JYP joins hands with Mnet to debut a new girl group

On February 12, it was reported that JYP Entertainment would cooperate with Mnet to debut a new girl group.
Mnet is one of the biggest entertainment TV channel in Korea, owned by media company CJ E&M. After the success of reality survival programs “Win: Who Is Next” and “Mix & Match” featuring YG artists, Mnet will launch an audition show to select members for JYP’s upcoming girl group.
Mnet has been known for many audition shows to pick talented idols who can win the hearts and minds of K-pop fans. Rookie band WINNER and soon-to-debut Monsta X are the latest idols produced through Mnet.
On the upcoming show, JYP’s female trainees will compete to become part of the new girl group. It will begin airing in April.
