Mercedes-Benz confirmed that they are planning a BMW X6 rival. Two high-level Mercedes executives have confirmed that the brand plans to launch a competitor model.

Mercedes’ model will likely be called the MLC and will be based on the M-Class architecture. The crossover may have a choice of six and eight cylinder gasoline engines. Europe will get its diesel models too.

This type of crossover can appeal to customers in all major markets, including the U.S., Europe, Russia and China.
