This is the official teaser photo for the all-new Volkswagen Golf R. The "R kommt" in German means "R Comes" and suggests that it will be getting a Frankfurt Motor Show debut later this Septmber.

Then a second teaser with a "300.." tag. Horsepower perhaps? The new 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four will be shared with the latest Audi S3 three-door hatchback, five-door Sportback and four-door Sedan models, in which it produces a peak output of 300PS (296hp) and maximum torque of 380 Nm (280 lb-ft).

The new hatch will be lighter than the 1508kg Golf R Mk6 thanks to its MQB underpinnings.
