Locks accompanied by keys have been around for ages, but this new BitLock will ensure only you can access your stuff by using your phone as a key. Check out the demo below:
BitLock is a U-lock that can be opened electronically by an iPhone or Android app. It connects via Bluetooth so you don't need to have your phone out to open it.
BitLock uses a lithium thionyl chloride battery (the highest energy
density of all lithium batteries) meaning it can last for 10,000
operations over at least five years. Other handy features include a GPS tracker, a fitness tracker to record miles biked, calories burned, and CO2 emissions avoided.
Find out more by visiting the official Kickstarter page, where early backers can get their hands BitLock for just $79.
