To celebrate its 125 anniversary, National Geographic launched a photo-sharing platform called Your Shot which invited photographers from around the world submit their best photos.
Led by the magazine's star photographer Cory Richards and his magazine photo editor Sadie Quarrier, the project asks photographers to submit three images "that convey how photography can help us explore our changing world." Below are just a couple of the impressive snapshots that have been sent in:
Those interested in participating must first sign up for the Your Shot community. They can then submit as many photos as they want before the October 22nd deadline.
