Reputable high fashion online boutique Mr. Porter has a new pair of Jimmy Choo slip-on sneakers for sale. It doesn't look very much different from a Vans classic slip-on, which retails for $50. What's surprising is that Jimmy Choo's pair costs $1,095.

The shoe is made from black suede, leather, and metal studs, but a Mr. Porter rep insists that its designer brand is what makes the shoe so expensive.

Is Jimmy Choo trying to establish a Christian Louboutin mark in the shoe world? We don't mind paying a lot for high-quality items and smooth breaking-in process, but these Jimmy Choo kicks seem a tad ordinary for a $1,095 price tag.

Are the price of men's shoe brands becoming more of a statement than its actual quality? Would you buy these Jimmys?
