Meyer revealed this during a recent interview with Variety’s Dave McNary. The author was asked about whether she might would consider returning to the vampire saga that made her a multi-millionaire movie mogul. Here's what she had to say:
SM: I get further away every day. I am so over it. For me, it’s not a happy place to be.
DM: Is the door completely closed on that?
SM: Not completely. What I would probably do is three paragraphs on my blog saying which of the characters died. I’m interested in spending time in other worlds, like Middle-Earth.
Ugh, here's hoping nobody decides to make that dream come true. The last thing Middle Earth needs is a bunch of sparkly vampires taking down orcs.
