Miguel Solis and Alexander Rivas are bodyguards who were hired to work during the couple's 2009 Costa Rican wedding. The duo have been sentenced to serve five years behind bars for firing bullets at the paparazzi who were trying to take photos of the private event.
According to reports, the bodyguards had approached two photographers and demanded they turn over their cameras and memory cards. The bodyguards then fired a shot as they left and attempted to drive away. Luckily, no one was injured.
The bodyguards had refused to testify. Both will also have to pay about $10,000 to each of the photographers. A third bodyguard charged in the incident was acquitted. The Brazilian supermodel is said to have no knowledge of the shooting.
