Copy the new selection from the background and paste it on a new layer and add a white layer to isolate the portrait. Open the landscape image and post in into the working document. Then click the Add Layer Mask icon to clip the background of the landscape to the outline of the portrait. Now duplicate the portrait cut layer and drag it to the top and open the image adjustments level and darken the image by moving the input and output sliders. Change the blending mode to Screen to render the dark areas transparent. This will leave a ghostly image, now add a Layer Mask to this ghostly layer erase some areas using brush to blend it.
