How big a diamond would you want on your hand? If you want this super huge 118 carat piece, you're out of luck because someone just bought it. The stone was auctioned off in Hong Kong today.

The oval shaped white diamond is the size of a small egg, according to the AP. It also set a new sale record at $30.6 million, which beats the previous record of $26.7 million for a white diamond set auctioned at Christie's in Geneva in May.
The stone, which weighed 299 carats when it was found in the rough in 2011, is the largest and most significant such diamond graded by the Gemological Institute of America. Sotheby's says it was discovered in southern Africa but won't name the country because the seller wishes to remain anonymous.
The buyer is also anonymous. Because how the hell do you put that on a ring? Right?

The most ever paid for a diamond is $46 million, when jeweler Laurence Graff bought a 24 carat pink diamond in 2010.

The Pink Star Diamond is another one set to be auctioned by Sotheby's in Geneva and it could break all records set with a estimated value at $60 million. Check out the picture above.
