Urns are designed to be aesthetically pleasing, showcasing design elements that add to any space. Even if you're not big into gardening, does not mean that you cannot benefit from a stunning garden urn for indoor use. Although perfect for a wide range of eye-catching plants and flowers, urn planters can also be used to display other decorative pieces in your home.

1. An end table

Whether you want to add a stunning end table to the side of your couch or beside your bed, a garden urn is a quick and inexpensive way to create a one-of-a-kind piece you can be proud of. On a small budget, you can create a piece of furniture that looks both elegant and expensive.

Depending on your home and overall style, you will want to select a tabletop that meets your design needs. Many opt for a rustic piece of wood, whereas others prefer glass. The sky is the limit and it's up to you to decide — just make sure that it is flat and level. The same goes for your urn — plenty of styles are available, with ceramic pots being a popular choice.

Next, depending on the look you're going for, you may need to paint your urn. A little paint goes a long way and offers you an unlimited color palette. Perhaps you love a certain shade of cream or pink found within the pillows on your couch — match that and make the room more dramatic.

If you are handy or have a friend that can help you out, simply draw a large circle on some plywood. Cut it out, sand it, and paint it if you please, and there you have it — an easy DIY tabletop. Place it on top of your urn, and just like that, you're done. Set-up a picture frame, a cactus, and whatever else you'd like to show off.

2. Celebrate in style

Do you like to entertain? If so, there's no doubt that drinks are often flowing in your household. Sure, there's nothing wrong with an old fashion fridge, but if you'd like to make a bold statement at your next party, use an urn in place of a large ice bucket. Add appropriate beverages to the urn of ice, allowing your guests to help themselves.

In this case, it's best to choose a lightweight urn (like: plastic or resin) based on their weight. Both of these materials are perfect when aiming to create an urn that looks as if it's made from heavier, more expensive materials. The level of detail created when using these materials is also impressive.

3. Candle Holder

Who doesn't enjoy a large candle? Although there are plenty of candleholders out there, why not step outside the box? If you source a small urn, you can fill it with rocks, stones, marbles, or whatever else you'd like — just make sure it's safe around fire. Also, choose an urn that's either cast-iron or ceramic, adding greater stability and fire resistance.

Then, place your candle in the middle, pushing it into a secure spot. Just like that, you will have a stunning candleholder that can be placed on a coffee table or fireplace. If you line-up three small urns in a row, you can make a bold statement — especially when they're all lit at night.

4. Storage with Style

Everyone feels like they need more of one important thing  — storage. When you have a spot to put things, clutter tends to be reduced. An urn is the perfect storage unit for a number of rooms. In your living room, you can stack books, a small throw or blanket, remotes, magazines, and the list goes on and on.

In your bedroom, you can paint an urn to match the overall theme you've created, showcasing select items that contribute to your personal space. Some may even want to source a small urn and place it within their bathroom, offering spare toilet paper rolls, extra towels, and so much more.

5. Impressive Entrance

When you walk into the front of your house, do you have a spot to place your shoes? What about a place for your umbrella after a long, wet walk? A large urn within the front entrance can be both aesthetically pleasing and functional, offering a spot for umbrellas and other outdoor items.

If all else fails, a garden urn can be easily transformed into an indoor planter to add some greenery to your home. This will not only allow you to enjoy added pops of color, but plants will also improve air quality in your home. Happy Decorating!
