Don't want to wear glasses anymore? And not too keen on laser surgery to give you 20/20 vision? A new eye lens that's currently in development might just give us vision that's better than 20/20.
An optometrist from British Columbia has developed a new lens that will give you vision that's three times greater than 20/20.
Dr. Garth Webb designed a new lens aptly called the "Bionic Lens." It aims to replace laser vision, and it took Webb 8 years and $3 million in funding to create them.
An eight-minute procedure will be done to implant the lens and it is painless! It's quite similar to cataract surgery too.
Each lens is custom-made and placed into a syringe with saline before it gets put into your eye. “If you can just barely see the clock at 10 feet, when you get the Bionic Lens you can see the clock at 30 feet away.“
The Bionic Lens will still have to undergo some clinical trials on animals and those who are blind, and it should be on the market in two years time.
