HeadsUP! Will Display Your Smartphone on Your Windshield [VIDEO]

Heads up displays are going to get common in cars soon enough, but before that, a new Indiegogo campaign is hoping to get a head start.
Tech startup NeXt built a product called HeadsUP!. It is a visual display that projects often-used smartphone features such as texting, voice calls and email onto the windshield of a car. It allows users to engage with their smartphones without needing to look at them while driving.
It has voice dictation, and touch free swiping to let users interact with the screen. According to NeXt CEO Arnab Raychaudhuri, the deice "significantly reduces reaction time while driving."
Their Indiegogo campaign has raised over $700 of its $50,000 fundraising goal. Why so low?
It turns out that potential backers may be hesitant to invest in a tech that is meant to encourage smartphone use while driving, though its creators say that this is safer than traditional texting.
Researchers have found that drivers who text while driving are 23 times more likely to get into an accident, according to USA Today.
NeXt is seeking a patent for the technology, and is asking donors on Indiegogo to pay $299 for the earliest version of its HeadsUP! device.
