Amazon managed to gain initial approval to build a series of huge greenhouses in the middle of Seattle so its employees never need to leave work.

The 65,000 square-foot, 95-feet tall, five-floor biodome structure will contain offices, dining areas, and retail stores and be nestled within the company's giant new campus.

There have been some design tweaks since the first proposal was shown off, for example, the spiraling steel bar has been replaced with new "geometrically organic" patterns that the architects say are "visually lighter". [Amazon/NBBJ ]
