Does your skin seem to rebel every time you exfoliate or try a new beauty product? For those of us with sensitive skin, it can always seem like an uphill battle. Here are some tips on how to pamper your sensitive skin:

Test, Then Apply

Whenever you are trying out a brand-new product for the very first time, it’s critical to do a test-run on a tiny patch of skin before liberally applying it to your whole face. Wait at least a day to see if you notice signs of redness or irritation. If you have hypersensitive skin, repeat the test on a patch of skin near your eye.

Find the Right Products

There are tons of beauty and skin care products specifically designed for those with sensitive skin, such as all natural skin care products. Be vigilant about only using products designed for your special skin type.

Use Tons of Moisturizer

Your sensitive skin is vulnerable to environmental factors and will greatly benefit from a healthy skin care routine. Dutifully moisturize in the morning and at night to keep your skin hydrated and healthy. A good moisturizer also acts as a protective barrier against pollution and wind.

Read Labels

Before purchasing a new product, be vigilant about reading the labels. Avoid products that contain harsh fragrances and paraben preservatives, as these are common causes for flare-ups and irritation.

Go Barefaced

Wearing a lot of makeup can irritate sensitive skin, so always go with the “less is more” approach. Allow your skin to breathe once or twice a week and avoid wearing any makeup for the entire day.

By using all natural skin care products (such as anti wrinkle serums), reading the labels, and taking a regular break from makeup, your sensitive skin can shine.
