Nine-member female idol group Girls' Generation's new single sped to the top of daily music charts Tuesday, just a day after the song's release the previous day.
"Oh!" the title track from their second album reached No. 1 on the charts of various online music providers and social networking sites including MelOn, Dosirak, Bugs Music and Cyworld.
The song had taken the same spot also on the real-time singles charts of Monkey 3 and Cyworld in just minutes of going on release yesterday.
Girls' Generation has been considered one of the most successful pop groups in the country since their debut in 2007. They had back-to-back hits last year with singles "Gee" and "Tell Me Your Wish". Their first mini-album "Gee" was a smash hit, topping the show's K-Chart for nine consecutive weeks, from January 13 thru March 13.
The girls will release their full-length music video for "Oh!" Wednesday while they are set to perform the song for the first time on MBC's televised music show "Music Central."
