‘Breakfast with Scot’ is a comedy about a gay couple, Eric and Sam, who end up in the situation of having an 11 year-old son, named Scot. This new situation reveals Eric and Sam’s paternal side and feelings, which they didn’t even know it existed.
Eric is a ex hockey player and Sam is a lawyer on sport issues. They have been a couple for 4 years. When Billy, Sam’s younger brother accepts a job in South America and his ex-girlfriend Juli dies of an overdose, the little boy is sent to Billy, although he is not his biological father.
Sam feels responsible for his brother, and, although in the beginning Eric doesn’t accept, Sam decides to take care of little Scot for him.
In a short period of time, Sam and Eric get really attached to the boy and see him as their son. When moment comes for Billy to take Scot back, Sam and Eric can’t stand the idea of losing him.
It’s hard to find a person who didn’t like 2012’s Dredd, a film that stands alongside RoboCop as the ultra-violent, dystopic film fans needed at the time, but a sequel to the movie hasn’t been forthcoming; in fact, over the past few years, the likelihood of a second outing for Olivia Thirlby and Karl Urban’s chin has hovered around zero.
