Each year, Disney releases a book for their investors featuring teases of upcoming projects. This year featured a new image from Princess And The Frog and A Christmas Carol, the latter featuring Robert Zemeckis’ motion capture circus trying to hammer out the last kinks in caricature photo-realism…
The concept art from A Christmas Carol seems to be better-quality versions of what we’ve seen before, though we still don’t know how closely the look of the film will follow these concept images. Because it’s motion capture, there’s a possibility that the end product will look exactly like these preview images.
And that’s an exciting prospect, if Jim Carrey can resist the urge to ham it up.
It’s hard to find a person who didn’t like 2012’s Dredd, a film that stands alongside RoboCop as the ultra-violent, dystopic film fans needed at the time, but a sequel to the movie hasn’t been forthcoming; in fact, over the past few years, the likelihood of a second outing for Olivia Thirlby and Karl Urban’s chin has hovered around zero.
