Ever since Avatar showed its footage last week, many comparisons to the failed animated Delgo were making its rounds around the net. Producers of Delgo are now in fact, considering legal options to sue James Cameron's Avatar.
Fathom has been bombarded with emails on the topic and have now released a statement that says that the studio may actually consider suing. “From what we have seen, we are amazed by the visual similarities between the two films and we are reviewing what legal options may be available to us,” said the statement.
There's apparently some proof that Cameron's Avatar production predates the birth of Delgo. So they might just have a very loosely based accusation here. Furthermore, a lawsuit would just be right for Delgo since it failed. A good way to make some money?
