For the past few weeks we’ve been watching Megan Fox kick ass and take names in her return trip to Michael Bay’s explosion-laced fantasy world of “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.” Her next silver screen outing will trade all of those shiny robots and eye-catching explosions for blood-slicked surfaces and eye-catching bare skin. In “Jennifer’s Body,” Fox plays a possessed cheerleader who uses her wiles to lure male classmates into a variety of gruesome deaths.
Here we have the latest red-band trailer for “Jennifer’s Body,” via a ShockTillYouDrop exclusive. There’s plenty of violence and suggestive undressing, along with Jennifer’s bestie Needy Lesnicky (Amanda Seyfried) trying to pull her friend back from the dark side. The premise may not have the instant appeal of “giant robots destroy everything,” but presuming Oscar-winner Diablo Cody’s script drips with the same sort of clever wordplay that made “Juno” so fantastic, “Jennifer’s Body” will definitely be one to watch.
Although Netflix contends that the service is intended to be only a complement to cable TV programming, it is undeniable that the two media competes fiercely for the same public. After all, anyone who can spend money on a paid television system is also usually willing to invest in a broadband connection. In this scenario, the streaming service appears as an increasing threat to channels that provide exclusive content for payment.
