I really dig Hugh Jackman and I’ll generally give anything he’s in a shot. Even thought I wasn’t all that impressed with Wolverine this weekend, Jackman, as usual, did his job and delivered the goods.
Word now is that he’s just joined up with a Disney production called “Ghostopolis”. To me it sounds a little bit too much like another Men In Black movie. The folks over at Dark Horizons give us this:
Doug TenNapel’s comic centers on a man who works for the government’s Supernatural Immigration Task Force. His job is to send ghosts who have escaped into our world back to Ghostopolis. When a living boy accidentally is sent to the other side, the agent must team with a female ghost (and former flame) to bring him back.
See what I mean? Replace the word “ghosts” in that with the word “aliens” and you’ve instantly got Men in Black 3 right? Well, that aside, to me the premise sounds kind of lame. We’ll have to wait to hear more about it.
It’s hard to find a person who didn’t like 2012’s Dredd, a film that stands alongside RoboCop as the ultra-violent, dystopic film fans needed at the time, but a sequel to the movie hasn’t been forthcoming; in fact, over the past few years, the likelihood of a second outing for Olivia Thirlby and Karl Urban’s chin has hovered around zero.
