A new Star Trek poster that appeared exclusively on Empire seems to be bringing back the tagline: “The Future Begins” which - if you remember - was the original subtitle to Terminator Salvation(: The Future Begins).
Of course, new T4 posters have been switching up the tagline to things like We Fight Back, leaving The Future Begins to our other future beginning franchise reboot, JJ Abrams Star Trek.
Here’s the thing though: didn’t the future begin when I woke up this morning? And won’t it be beginning the day after Star Trek opens? Is “The Future Begins” really that catchy of a tag line that two blockbuster tent poles were vying for it?
It’s hard to find a person who didn’t like 2012’s Dredd, a film that stands alongside RoboCop as the ultra-violent, dystopic film fans needed at the time, but a sequel to the movie hasn’t been forthcoming; in fact, over the past few years, the likelihood of a second outing for Olivia Thirlby and Karl Urban’s chin has hovered around zero.
