It looks like Emily Blunt is going to be filming Gulliver’s Travels with Jack Black instead of starring as the Black Widow/Natasha Romanofffor the Iron Man sequel.
We knew that if Blunt had other obligations that it would be either Scarlett Johansson or Eliza Dushku for the part, and the more we looked at it, the more we realized that Dushku really only said she’d like the part on Howard Stern, where she also discussed how her name isn’t really pronounced like “douche.”
Maybe we should have just awarded Scarlett the crown because she had more credible sources…
Now I’m told that Emily Blunt won’t be in the sequel and
Black Widow will now be played by Scarlett Johannson. (Interesting
because Scarlett actually screen-tested for the role and didn’t get
it.) But I hear that, unlike Mickey’s money, the deal for her is “just
the opposite, a terrible deal made by CAA,” one of my insiders says.
“It’s as bad as any deal that I’ve heard. It’s lowball money. And it
ties her to countless movies, including that ensemble The Avengers,
which is what makes this brutal for a lot of actors.”
So Scarlett was the second choice for a tiny bit of money, this
after Mickey Rourke now looks a lock for a villainous role and Sam
Jackson’s Nick Fury super-deal.
Hopefully she’s not going to ruin the movie like her husband Ryan
Reynolds (through no personal fault) is going to be the downfall of
