Shooter McGavin onStargate Universe: is this some kind of beautiful dream? Christopher McDonald is one of the big surprises in the premiere episode, and another reason to hope SGU topples past Stargate ratings.
Producer Joseph Mallozzi revealed on his blog that chin-for-days McDonald would be joining the cast as the guest character Senator Armstrong in the premiere episode.
Mallozzi didn't reveal too much that we didn't already know about McDonald, but boy are we happy that he's there:

The Senator's daughter, Chloe Armstrong, will be a regular cast member played by Elyse Levesque.
Also announced on Mallozzi's site: actress Ona Grauer will be back on Stargate. I hope this means that other past cast members (named David Hewlett) will also be coming along.
