Sherlock's next season is slated to air on New Year's Day, and the BBC has released an early holiday treat for fans in the form of a mini episode.
Entitled "Many Happy Returns," the seven-minute prequel details a little of what the eccentric Sherlock Holmes has been up to - from world traveling and solving crimes. His path eventually leads him back to London, where John Watson is still grieving for his supposed death.

Sherlock will premiere Jan. 1 in the UK on BBC and Jan. 19 on PBS for American viewers.
