A couple of anti-domestic violence activists recently paid a visit to HMV in London to slap the following warning label on Chris Brown's latest album "Fortune." The warning label reads as:
“Warning: Do not buy this album! This man beats women.”
HMV has released a statement saying it was an isolated incident. However, the much-publicized stunt might have backfired as may have helped promote the album. A rep told NME that the people behind the stickering “got their point across pretty effectively,” but inadvertently made more people aware of the new release by drawing attention to it:
“We were as surprised as anyone when the stickers appeared in one of our stores outside of London at the back end of last week. Obviously someone must have snuck in to put them on a handful of CDs, and although they weren’t up very long before staff removed them, the person responsible managed to take a snap and send it out to media.”
