Here's a simple tip that will make you go "I wish I had thought of that!" which involves preventing charging cables from fraying. The reason this happens is because of the way the cables are designed, and can pose a serious fire hazard.
Thanks to DIYer Angelica, a quick way to protect the cable using a part you can find inside a clickable pen. Disassemble the pen to obtain the spring inside, and wrap it around the cable before sliding it to the end. The extra support coiled around this area will ensure your cable stays straight in situations where gravity might bend it which results it in detaching and fraying.
