Imagine heading down the highway at the crack of dawn only to be greeted by the likes of this:
This mannequin hanging from a Las Vegas billboard emblazoned with “Dying For Work” had drivers convinced they were seeing a real person swinging from the rope that they flooded the 911 switchboards with calls.
According to the owners of the ad space Lamar Advertising, the billboard had actually been hijacked by vandals. And apparently this isn't the only one out there; another billboard in the Las Vegas area read ”Hope You’re Happy Wall St.,” with a second mannequin hanging from the edge.
So far, no one has claimed responsibility for the creepy hangmen. However, the website for Occupy Las Vegas applauds the displays saying it highlights the problem caused by Nevada lawmakers slashing social aid programs during the bad economy.
