Exactly one week since a gunman fired indiscriminately into the crowd at a Dark Knight Rises midnight screening in Aurora, Colorado, comedian Dane Cook decided it was time to lighten up the mood by adding a few (stolen!) Aurora massacre jokes to his stand-up routine.

Below is a transcript of what he had to say about James Holmes killing 12 and injuring 59, along with footage of the show obtained by The Daily Caller:

"I heard that the guy came into the theater about 25 minutes into [The Dark Knight Rises]. And I don’t know if you’ve seen the movie, but the movie's pretty much a piece of crap. Yeah, spoiler alert. I know that if none of that would have happened, I'm pretty sure that somebody in that theater, about 25 minutes in realizing it was a piece of crap, probably was like, 'Ugh, fucking shoot me.'"
Cook has since apologized for the joke via twitter, calling it a "bad judgement call". The only joke here would be Dane Cook's career:
Cook just posted a statement on Twitter saying, "I am devastated by the recent tragedy in Colorado & did not mean to make light of what happened."

"I made a bad judgment call with my material last night & regret making a joke at such a sensitive time. My heart goes out to all of the families & friends of the victims."
