Nerdist were preparing for an Olympic style race “Course of the Force,” an olympic-style lightsaber relay race leading up to San Diego Comic Con.
It will be the first year for the event, and it kicks off July 7 in Santa Monica and runs over the course of five days to San Diego. The Nerdist team worked with Lucasfilm and Lorne Michael's Broadway Video tea to create the video you see below. The Star Wars-inspired video features appropriate cameos from R2D2, Tusken Raiders, Boba Fett and ewoks.
Proceeds for this year’s Course of the Force will go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Leading the race will be a 25-foot replica of Jabba the Hutt’s sail barge from Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. Check out the video!
