A woman aged 21 who groomed a girl of 15 for sex was jailed for 20
months yesterday after what is believed to be the first prosecution of
Sarah Wilson, was sent to prison after the court was convinced that she was targetting a 15-year-old girl online and bombarding her with sexually explicit text messages
she was arrested after the girl's mother learned she had played truant
from school and travelled by train from her home in Scunthorpe to meet
the 21-year-old pervert at London's Kings Cross station.
at Southwark Crown Court in London, Wilson - who is unemployed and
weighs more than 20 stone - stood weeping in the dock as prosecutor
Peter Zinner said: 'This is an unusual case in that is rare for a
female to be involved in the grooming of a child and probably the first
case of an adult female involved in grooming a young girl.'
The court heard her intended victim was vulnerable, had a poor relationship with her parents and suffered from low self-esteem.
