Odd couples come in all shapes and sizes but this particular one takes the cake.

Who would have thought a primate and a canine could be acquaintances, let alone best friends? Suryia the orang-utan and Roscoe a Blue Tick hound took to each other the moment they met two years ago.

Now, they swim together, play together and Suryia even takes Roscoe for his walks.

"It was unusual because dogs are usually scared of primates but they took to each other straight away", Dr. Bhagavan Antie, founder of The Institute of Greatly Endangered and Rare Species (TIGERS) said.

"They will spend a few hours each day together rolling around, swimming

"When they are both feeling a little lazy, they will go for a ride on the back of Bubbles, our 27-year-old African elephant."

The pair will be making their debut appearance on Oprah's show and are "very excited".
