25-year-old illustrator Peter Berkowitz decided to save some money on rent by sharing a one bedroom apartment with his friend because splitting two bedrooms would be something beyond his means. So he decided to build himself a pod.
It measures 8 by 2.4 by 4.5, and has a fold-down desk, backboard, LED for lighting and only costs him $500 monthly.
The average one bedroom apartment rent is $3,770.
Drawing inspiration from Japanese capsule hotels, it sure looks cozy.
Not sure if he could fit a partner in there though.
