The fashion idol of the prep-look has been heralded as the new style coach for American Idol. Come March 15th, Tommy Hilfiger will serve as image advisor for the budding idols as they compete on stage for the top spot. Here's what Hilfiger told GQ about his new role:
"I was approached to join the show to mentor, and support contestants in discovering their personal style. I'll be advising contestants on creating an image that complements their music, using my experience as a fashion designer to help them identify, and enhance their style. You need the complete package: talent, image, attitude! I think people underestimate how the right style, and clothing can give musicians a new self-confidence in their performance. I am honored to be part of the American Idol family, and have the opportunity to support young talent."
