Chinese Netizens Poke Fun At Fake Communist Officials' Sex Scandal Pics
This awkward looking shot is one from a set of over 120 snapshots featuring three naked men and two women that has been leaked online, spurning plenty of memes.
The photos initially surfaced last week with the mocking title "comrades in charge," since alleged involved high-ranking Communist officials in China participating in various acts of congress in a hotel room.
Two of the men were identified as Wang Minsheing, head of the Communist Party in Lujiang county, in the eastern province of Anhui, and his second-in-command. Despite the resemblance, the Communist party initially denied that these are their guys. They later backtracked and said the pics were real but the Party officials had been misidentified. Mr. Wang also spoke up to clear his name, saying he was being "slandered," possibly as payback over a corruption case he was investigating.
It's believed that the photos were taken back in 2007 and feature random swingers. A third male participant named Wang Yu (what's with all the Wangs?) was tracked down by China's "human flesh search engines". He confessed that he and his wife, a middle school teacher, were indeed part of the group. He was later fired from his position as the Deputy Secretary of the Communist Youth League of Hefei University in Anhui.
It wasn't long before the State Council Information Office (China's head web censor) was forced to issue an official directive that "all websites must stop following and hyping the so-called 'Lujiang Indecent Photos Incident.'" The phrases "naked photos" and "vulgar photos" were subsequently banned from Weibo. An Internet user named "Anhui1234567q" has since admitted to posting the pictures in error, and apologized to Wang for misidentifying the party chief.
And apparently, threesomes are technically illegal in China, and participants can be prosecuted under an obscure "group licentiousness" statute added to the Chinese criminal code in 1997.
