Stories of children being raised by animals is nothing new, but this is
the first case that we've heard involving a child being raised as a goat.
According to The Sun, the severely malnourished wild child had been rescued by social workers after he reportedly was spent most his life being raised in a room full of goats. Irina Bochkova, the deputy head of social work in Russia’s Rostov region of Shakti, described what happened during the rescue:
“It was incredibly cold, dirty and smelly in that house. We just grabbed him and rushed him to the city hospital. Doctors said that, because of how he lived, his brain has not developed properly.”
The two-year-old dubbed 'Sasha T' had spent most of his
young life playing and sleeping with the goats. He was found naked in filth and could not speak, eat, or use a potty. Children’s doctor Natalya Simonina described his odd behaviour at the hospital as such:
“He refused to sleep in the cot. He tried to get under it and sleep there. He was very scared of adults."
“He tried to break everything he saw — windows, furniture. He could not speak or hold a spoon. He had no idea about what to do with toys.”
As for the boy’s 40-year-old mum, she was not present during the raid but is likely to lose her maternal rights.
