Zhang Jianqi, a former deputy commander of the country's manned space program, uttered this gem of a quote in reference to the Chinese space program's first two women astronauts
who had been selected to take part in missions on the proposed China space station:
"In the selection [of astronauts], we had almost the same requirements on women candidates as those for men, but the only difference was that they must be married, as we believe married women would be more physically and psychologically mature."
Right... because you wouldn't want single astronaut ladies to start marrying extraterrestrial beings now, would you China?
