Google Celebrates Sesame Street's 40th Anniversary

Today, Google's homepage celebrates the 40th anniversary of Sesame Street, and today, the Cookie Monster has dibs on the homepage.
But really, Google has chosen the Cookie Monster because, as Gizmodo points out, the fluffy blue fellow celebrated Google in a song, 27 years ago!
Though the song came 16 years ago before Google even existed, and is technically about the Cookie Monster's googly eyes, it's still sort-of a tribute to the search engine giant. Yesterday's mascot was Big Bird, below the belt.
There is a 8"4 x 12'7" mosaic portrait of Taylor Swift's face made out of Lego bricks at Legoland Windsor in the UK. It took 2 days to make and some 35,840 bricks.
