In a story about a single father facing the hardships of raising his daughter alone, we learn that a dad's role in building their daughter's self esteem is important.

Simon Von Booys shares his experience in the Times of London, and admits he turns to other mothers for advice. The most impressive thing he's done is prevent his daughter from being around fashion magazines.

"I now hide all fashion magazines, not because I'm against Disney-inspired couture, but because I'm worried that Madeleine will think those models are what she is supposed to look like as a woman," he writes.

In this way, it's important for children to know that not all men think they're supposed to look like a model, which would affect them later on in life.
