A woman set herself on fire in a Miami mall Thursday, then walked around engulfed in flames, said authorities.

The 43-year-old burning woman, whose name wasn't released, doused herself in a flammable liquid at the Mall of Americas.

She suffered third-degree burns on over 75 percent of her body and was found in a parking lot, conscious. Authorities have no idea why she set herself ablaze.

Witnesses said the woman was in a clothing store, Savage Boutique, when she caught fire. Jose Morales, 24, said he heard screams and thought someone had fallen. But when he turned around, he saw the blaze and realize there was someone on fire.

"This woman is just walking like this, super slow, completely on fire," he said. "You couldn't see nothing but fire."

Morales said two people used fire extinguishers on the woman, who was ablaze for about two and a half minutes. All of her clothes except for her underwear disappeared into ashes.

After they put the fire out, the woman simply walked out of the mall and into the parking lot.

The two men who tried to help her were slightly injured and were treated at the scene, and another woman who helped was taken to a hospital. The woman who set herself on fire was air-lifted to the hospital.
