These are, as you can see by the appearance and design, strictly no boys allowed zone! Girls must let everybody know that they are indeed girls, girly ones at that, when they play games like scrabble and monopoly. Goodness forbid if they should add some blue colour to the game! How un-girly would that be?

But of course, why should the girly scrabble spell anything educational other than "fashion"?

This monopoly set, called the Boutique edition, comes in the design of a jewellery box.

It seems like as if they're trying to turn today's young girls into bimbos who only obsess over fashion. They're desperately trying to create soft, girly-girls so that none turn out tough and take over the corporate world!

But seriously, these boardgames are a socialization of females and gender stereotyping. There seems to be a need for gender-specific board games, even though non-gender-specific board games seemed to work just fine in the past.
