A new record for the tallest waterfall kayaked by a woman has been set for the third time. Christie Glissmeyer claimed the record with a descent of 82-feet at the Metlako Falls.

Her record, set on Mother's Day, added another 15-feet to the 78-foot mark set by Shannon Carroll in 1998. "Before Sunday, the highest drop I had run was 45-foot Celestial Falls," Glissmeyer said in an interview. "When I floated over the horizon, I tucked forward, closed my eyes and let go of my paddle. I melted into the landing. The hit was so soft it took me by surprise."

Glassmeyer says she doesn't have a goal to run any specific big waterfalls, but if she comes across any appealing ones she'd consider them.
