Shania Twain hasn't disappeared yet, folks. After keeping out of the spotlight since her May 2008 divorce with Robert "Mutt" Lange, the singer is slowly climbing her way back into the limelight.

Twain will be a appearing as a guest judge on American Idol during the Chicago Auditions, and she has posted a "personal letter" and video travelogue on her Web site to reach out to her fans.

"The country music industry is ready for Shania Twain to come back, definitely," said Reba McEntire. "You could see that at the CMA Awards. They gave her a standing ovation when she walked out on stage."

Singer Taylor Swift also recently gave a shoutout to Shania Twain "for always making theatrical videos," during an acceptance speech at the Country Music Television awards. Swift said, "I take my cues from you."

Twain posted up the letter and video last Friday, on her 44th birthday: "I hit a very big bump in the road," she wrote. "But Eja [her son] and I are doing well and with all the concern you, my fans, have shown over this difficult period, I want you to see for yourself that we are doing fine, by sharing these personal images with you."

The singer's marriage to Lange fell apart last year after his alleged affair with Marie-Anne Thiebaud, a longtime secretary and manager of the couple's estate in Switzerland. But since then, Twain has been comforted by Thiebaud's ex-husband, Frederic Thiebaud.

Twain said she's made a point of surrounding herself with "loved ones I can trust."

Though there's no word on her coming out with any new music, Twain says her experiences are helping her find inspiration.
