Spain goalkeeper Pepe Reina has backed his underfire Liverpool team-mate
Fernando Torres to repeat his Euro 2008 final winning heroics against
Torres, 26, grabbed the goal that made Vicente Del
Bosque European champions two years ago, but has looked a long distance
short of that form so far this summer. The £70 million-rated superstar
has yet to find the back of the net in South Africa and has been left in
top scorer David Villa's shadow.
Speaking to reporters in the
build-up to Wednesday's semi-final clash against Joachim Loew's side,
Reina insisted Torres would spark back into life.
"Torres is a
fully mature guy now and has experienced both tough and sweet moments in
his career and knows that's the way football goes," Reina said.
