June 5-6, 2012 will be your last chance to see the Transit of Venus until the year 2117! In this video, using astronomy software Space Engine and Stellarium, I do my best to explain what a transit is, why it happens so infrequently and simulate what it will look like from various locations across the world. Much of the information here was found in Dr. Phil Plait's Bad Astronomy blog post about the transit, which also includes links to many online livestreams of the event: http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/badastronomy/2012/05/30/everything-you-need-to-know-about-next-weeks-transit-of-venus/ Thanks for watching!
