Being in the "ring of fire" can be troublesome. But if you had an idea to utilize volcano power, then it'd be great. Indonesia has launched a plan to use the vast power of its volcanoes to generate 4000MW of clean energy. The 17,000 islands contain hundreds of volcanoes that are estimated to hold about 40 percent of the world's geothermal energy potential.
They plan to generate 4GW of power by 2014 and later on quadruple that amount to 1189MW. The entire project will cost them $12 billion. This particular project will help the country cut emissions by 26 percent by 2020.
