Volkswagen has announced that its Golf Plus BiFuel is now available for order in Germany. The car runs on liquified petroleum gas (LPG), an alternative fuel that's common in Germany and that reduces CO2 emissions by more than 10 percent--and the Golf Plus does it right from the factory, without the need for a third-party aftermarket conversion kit.

The Golf Plus also features a bi-fuel drive system that can also run on gas  by flipping a switch if there's no LPG available nearby. The company said that the car can run about 270 miles on LPG and another 400 miles on gas, giving drivers a total of almost 700 miles of range without stopping for fuel.
