Dishwashers have always been useful, but they seem to use alot of water and chemicals as well. Several studies that have been conducted found that the average hand washing dishes uses alot more water because people tend to leave the tap running.

One study by researchers at the University of Bonn in Germany found that hand-washing dishes uses between five and 86 gallons of water compared to four to five gallons for the average European dishwasher.

Steam washing is an entirely new concept that's environmentally friendly and also acts as a feasible alternative to solvents that are damaging to the environment. One of the greatest benefits of ultrasonic cleaning is its ability to clean items in a short time scale.

At normal atmospheric pressures, water can only get as hot as about 100 degrees Celsius. At that point, it turns to steam. The steam, in turn, can carry a lot of heat and, if pressurized, can continue to heat up, which enables it to sanitize objects.
