Lets first have a look at some of the ways in which experts could remove acne scars:
  • Microdermabrasion: Microdermabrasion refers to skin sanding with either ultra-fine crystals of aluminum-oxide, abrasive agents such as diamond dusts or silicone granules. This method has very light effect on acne scars as it makes the skin smooth enough to enhance the growth of skin. The results for this method remain for 4-6 weeks after which it should be repeated. Do not try it yourself.
  • Dermabrasion: Dermabrasion is a method where top layers of the skin is removed with the use of high speed rotating wire brush or in some cases diamond coated wheels. Due to action of above, small part of the skin surface wears down. The healing takes place within 2-3 weeks where new smooth skin is formed. This method is carried out by experts.
  • Laser resurfacing: Laser resurfacing is a method of acne scar or wrinkle removal where high energy light is used to burn down the damaged top layer of the skin. This also tightens the middle layer of skin thus making the skin smooth and scar free. The skin takes 4-10 days to heal completely. This method comes with a good price though.
