Volkswagen Will Be Building Porsches This Fall (Report)

Volkswagen has a long way to go before it can close the deal to take over Porsche, but they will begin building them this fall. Primary Boxster production will commence this summer at Porsche's factory in Zuffenhausen, where the 911 is also built.
Overflow production will be handled by VW at its Osnabrück plant. The plant handles the assembly for the VW Golf Cabriolet and overflow Porsche Cayman production.
Mention the letters “GTi” to anyone and two cars will spring to mind: the Volkswagen Golf GTi and the Polo GTi. These iconic hatchbacks are the reason people in the UK and mainland Europe refer to any hatchback car as a “hot hatch.” Read more
